Exercise Physiology for
Why Exercise Helps
The evidence for movement and pain
Movement is one of the best-evidenced treatments for pain

When pain has stuck around for months or years, rest rarely fixes it — and often makes things worse. The research is consistent: graded, appropriately dosed movement is among the best-evidenced treatments for persistent pain, helping to retrain a system that’s become protective and rebuild what your body can do.

Exercising Safely
Pacing and progressing without fear of flare-ups
Start small. Build slowly. Keep going.

We start well within what your body can handle and build gradually, so your system learns that movement is safe. You’ll learn to pace — doing enough to progress without tipping into flare-ups — and what to do on the days pain is louder, so a bad day never has to become a bad month.

Alongside Your Medical Team
Working alongside your GP, specialist or pain program
Allied health, working as it should

Exercise physiology sits inside your care team. We work alongside your GP, specialist or pain program, plan around your medications and flare patterns, and report progress where it’s useful. Medicare and DVA rebates may apply for eligible care plans.

Returning to Training
Rebuilding a life that’s bigger than the pain
Confidence comes back one session at a time

Expect gradual wins that add up — sitting, standing and walking with more ease, returning to the activities pain took off the table. When you’re ready, sessions progress toward independent exercise or personal training, at a pace your system can trust.

Training that gives back more than it takes

Physically, expect gradual, cumulative gains: more ease in everyday movement, better tolerance for activity, and strength built one manageable step at a time.

Just as importantly, expect to be believed. You’ll work with an EP who takes your pain seriously and plans around it — pacing, adjusting and celebrating progress that’s real for you.
