Personal training is focused on general fitness, strength and performance goals — think building strength, improving conditioning or training towards an event. Exercise physiology is an allied health service delivered by an accredited practitioner, focused on using exercise to manage injuries, chronic conditions and rehabilitation. If you're unsure which is right for you, get in touch and we'll point you in the right direction.
An Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) is a university-qualified allied health professional who uses clinical exercise to prevent and manage injuries and chronic health conditions. They design evidence-based exercise programs tailored to your individual needs and goals.
No referral is needed to book privately. However, if you're accessing services through a GP care plan, private health insurance, NDIS or another scheme, a referral or plan may be required. We're happy to help you understand your options before you start.
Every session is one-on-one with your trainer and built around your plan for the day. You'll warm up, work through a tailored mix of strength, movement and conditioning at a level that suits you, then cool down. Your trainer coaches your technique the whole way through and adjusts things on the spot, so you're always training safely and getting the most out of your time.
In many cases, yes. Exercise physiology may be claimable through a GP Chronic Disease Management plan (Medicare), private health insurance with extras cover, NDIS, DVA or workers' compensation, depending on your circumstances. Please confirm your eligibility and rebate details with us and your provider before booking.

Personal training at Lift is for everyday people who want to feel stronger, move better and stay consistent — not just gym regulars. We work with busy parents, time-poor professionals, older adults wanting to stay active and independent, and everyday athletes training towards an event. Whatever your starting point, your program is built around you.
Your first appointment involves a discussion of your health history and goals, some movement and fitness assessments, and the start of a personalised plan. It's a relaxed, no-pressure session designed to understand where you're at and map out the way forward.
Yes, though it depends on what you're managing. For general niggles and getting back into training safely, our personal trainers can tailor your program around you. If you're recovering from surgery, an injury or managing a chronic health condition, our Accredited Exercise Physiologists offer a clinical allied-health service that may suit you better — and we're happy to point you to the right option. Just let us know and we'll guide you.
The easiest way to start is to book a free initial consult. We'll talk through your goals and health history, answer your questions, and book in your first assessment. From there your trainer maps out a plan and you get going — no lock-in pressure, just a clear next step. You can book through our contact page or get in touch and we'll sort out a time.
Sessions typically run for 45 to 60 minutes, including a warm-up and cool-down. We'll confirm the format that works best for your goals and schedule during your first session.
It depends on your goals, recovery and schedule. Many clients see great results training two to three times a week, combined with activity on their own. We'll recommend a frequency that's realistic and sustainable for you.
Comfortable activewear, supportive shoes, a water bottle and a small towel. If you have any relevant medical information or past injuries, bring those details along so we can factor them into your program.
Yes. Partner and small-group training are a great way to stay accountable and share the cost. Let us know who you'd like to train with and we'll tailor a program that works for everyone in the group.
We don't set a single price for personal training because it depends on how often you train and how long your sessions are. We'd rather understand your goals, motivation and lifestyle first, then recommend the option that genuinely fits you. If you're managing a health condition, we may start you with our exercise physiology team for the all-clear before your PT program begins. Get in touch and we'll talk you through it.
For individual sessions, we ask for a minimum of 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. A cancellation inside the 24 hour window before your scheduled session means you will be charged for that session. Just let your trainer know and we'll accommodate as best as possible.
If you're cancelling an ongoing training agreement, we ask for two weeks' notice.
A good trainer gives you three things that are hard to get on your own: a program built for your body and goals, expert coaching so every rep counts and you train safely, and genuine accountability that keeps you showing up. Most people train harder, smarter and more consistently with a trainer in their corner — and see results faster because of it.
It depends on where you're starting and how consistent you are, but most clients notice they feel stronger, move more easily and have more energy within the first several weeks. Over time that builds into real changes in strength, fitness and confidence. We set realistic goals with you up front and track your progress so you can see how far you've come.
